it's for a good cause!

I've donated 2 of my "Post No Bills" tables and 2 of my "Modern Picture Frames" to the Housing Works Thrift Shop's sixth annual Design on a Dime fundraising event.

"Opening Night Reception on Thursday, May 6th
at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Join us for New York City’s most popular interior design benefit event, where you’ll enjoy exclusive preview shopping, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and live entertainment."

Housing Works Is an amazing organization:

"Housing Works is committed to ending the twin crises of AIDS and homelessness. We believe that all people have the right to a rich and empowering life. Since 1990, we have provided the highest quality services for homeless men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS in New York City and beyond." Find out MORE.

If you're in the NYC area and would like to attend, you can buy tickets for the opening night reception on May 6th, 2010 HERE. Access to the FREE public sale is on May 7th & 8th.

A few years ago, I donated one of my "Viza" tables to the same event. Here are a couple of photos of the event:

My Etsy.com store is now open for business! I am offering FREE SHIPPING on several items, including my V1.0 of my now patented picture frame and the "Post No Bills" version of my "Arco" table. Below is a screen shot of my Etsy.com store. Click the image below to open the site.

For those of you who haven't yet heard of Etsy.com here is a link to a recent article from the New York Times. Etsy.com is an online community of artisans who sell their hand made products. Check it out. There are some very talented people there and I have added several other artisans and products to my "favorites" list.

If you like my work, please add my store to your favorite Etsy.com places.

new butcher block table with storage

Share

Well this is a new post for an old table. I made this table 4 years ago as a solution to a very small New York City kitchen [in my very small New York City apartment]. Now that the design concept has been thoroughly kitchen-tested, I am now selling custom versions of this table through my web site.

Click on either of the images in this post to learn more about this butcher block table, and see how it accommodates all that cookware on hooks under the maple cutting surface.

All you need is a few square feet of floor space and you can free up some of your already overloaded kitchen cabinets. The thick and rugged solid maple butcher block top is perfect for cutting, slicing, and dicing. Give your cookware a stylish new home - and get some extra counter space as well! Custom sizes available to suit your particular needs. Check out my web site roykushner.com for contact information and for custom quotes.
